GDPR

The Mono Platform makes it easy to comply with personal data privacy regulations.

Mono and GDPR: a brief overview

What

Data protection in European markets

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union regulation aimed at strengthening the data protection of individuals within the EU.

Why

GDPR - an essential aspect of doing business in Europe

As a European business, we understand that GDPR compliance is a non-negotiable part of operating in European markets.

How

A website builder designed with compliance in mind

The Mono white label website platform makes compliance as easy as possible for you and your customers.

Who is affected by GDPR?

All SMBs that serve EU citizens need to comply with GDPR. For example, if a small business outside of the EU offers their products/service to EU citizens, then they will need to comply with GDPR.

Is the Mono Platform GDPR compliant?

The Mono Platform provides the functionality to ensure that websites built on it can easily comply with GDPR.

It is ultimately up to your SMB clients to ensure that their business is compliant.

Helping your clients stay compliant

You can help your SMB customers comply with the GDPR by encouraging them to:

  • Update their privacy policy
  • Centrally manage all personal data collected via their website
  • Use consent tick boxes on forms
  • Implement Cookie Consent

Please note that Mono Solutions is not in a position to offer legal advice, and we therefore recommend that you consult your own legal counsel.

How the Mono Platform makes it easy to be GDPR Compliant

  1. Fully compliant automated Cookie Consent: Automated cookie compliance that stays up-to-date with changing legislation.
  2. hCaptcha: hCaptcha's image-recognition challenge only captures image-selection data, not personal information.
  3. Proxies: Where needed, we have Proxies in place to keep your IP address hidden. Proxies work as a middleman on the internet. When a Mono site sends a request to Google Fonts, for example, the request is first sent to Mono’s proxy. The proxy sends the request on, so the receiver can only see the Proxy’s IP address, not the individual user’s.
  4. PI stays in the EU: Mono stores personal information such as names and email addresses on servers in Europe.
  5. Consent tick boxes on forms: Mono forms include the option to add a consent tick box to make it easier for visitors to access the privacy policy in the form.

  6. Third party providers: Mono Solutions does not share personal data with third parties beyond what is needed to provide our core platform and services (e.g. the provisioning of domains).
