6 tips for getting the most out of AI Assistant in the Text Editor

The AI Assistant helps you create, edit, and translate content with AI. Here are 6 tips that will help you create better content.

This year, we launched our Text Editor AI Assistant on the Mono White Label Website Platform.

The AI Assistant helps you create, edit, and translate content with the help of AI, within the Mono Editor (our no-code website builder). 
 
The tool smartly takes information defined under Global Data to create relevant content.

You don't even have to create your own prompts - the AI Assistant does it for you through selections within the tool.

In this article, we will cover 6 features of the AI Assistant that you need to know to create killer content.

 

1: Mandatory: Give AI Assistant context about the business

Before you start using the AI Assistant, it’s crucial to populate the necessary fields under Global Data> AI Information.

Global Data is a centralized repository for information about your SMB customer's business.

By filling out the fields under AI Information, you give the AI the context it needs to write content that aligns with your brand voice, audience expectations, and overall objectives. 

The more information you provide here, the better the AI Assistant will be at creating content for you.

Let's take the functionality Write with AI as an example.

Under Write with AI in AI Assistant, you can specificy:

  • Whether you want a paragraph (or title)
  • How long the paragraph should be
  • And enter a topic.
  • You could for example ask for a medium length paragraph with the topic 'services'.
  • The AI Assistant will take information from Global Data such as company description, location, and company name to create a tailored paragraph about the services for this specific company.

 

2: Create new content from scratch within the website builder

Use the AI Assistant’s Write with AI function to create new content.

Thanks to the Global Data, you don’t need to write a prompt. The AI Assistant does all the work for you.

Simply choose if you want a title or a paragraph, choose paragraph length and tell the AI Assistant roughly what kind of text you are looking for:

  • For example, is it an about us section or a company history section?
  • Maybe you wish to describe the services?

Please note, AI Assistant will only create the content from scratch if the current text module is empty. If there is existing text, AI Assistant will use this text for context.  

 

3: Use the translate function to create other language versions of your customer website

The AI Assistant can translate between multiple languages.

You can for example create your Mono website first in one language, then copy it to another language and go through and translate each text module using the AI Assistant. 

 

Best practices for translation:

  • Make sure the original text is clear and concise before translating.
  • Review the translated content to make sure it hits the correct tone and information.
  • Leverage the Global Data setup to maintain consistency in terminology and branding across languages.
  • The AI Assistant will generate content in the same language as the website’s setting.
    • For instance, if you have a website version in English, the AI Assistant will create the content in English.
    • Likewise, if you go to the German version of the website, any new content created through the AI assistant will be in German.
      • This means the translation feature is great when building a new language version for the first time.
      • If you then need new content or edit content later, you can simply do this directly using the Write with AI functionality on the relevant version of the site. 

 

Whether you’re translating blog posts, product descriptions, or customer communications, this feature makes writing for different audiences fast and straightforward. 

 

4: Experiment with editing options

The AI Assistant’s editing capabilities are more than just a simple grammar tool. They can improve existing text, let you adjust tone, make your text shorter or longer, or translate the text to reach new audiences. 

For example, the Improve Writing functionality is a useful feature that can speed up text creation for you. Simply braindump the information and AI Assistant will tidy it up for you.

Experimenting with these options allows you to adjust the text to fit your needs, without having to write prompts yourself.  

 

5: Customize prompts for specific needs

While the AI Assistant can generate content based on the information provided in Global Data, you can also create custom prompts. This feature allows you to tailor content to fit highly specific use cases.

For example, if you’re writing a product description, you might include details about the product’s features, benefits, and target audience in your prompt. A well-constructed custom prompt ensures the AI delivers precise results.

Tips for Writing Effective Prompts:

  • Be specific about the type of content you need (e.g., "Write a professional product description").
  • Include keywords or phrases you want to emphasize.
  • Set a tone or style, such as "casual," "formal," or "playful." You can also alter the tone or style later using AI Assistant built-in menu points. 

Custom prompts are ideal for crafting specialized content such as taglines, detailed FAQs, or industry-specific articles. 

 

6: Regularly update your Global Data

As your customer's business or website evolves, so should your Global Data setup. Keeping the AI Assistant informed with the latest details ensures the generated content stays relevant and aligned with your goals. 

In the company description, you can mention things like:

  • New products or services
  • Changes in target audience or branding
  • Updated SEO keywords or marketing priorities
  • New regions or markets you’re targeting

By maintaining Global Data, you can help AI Assistant create more accurate content on the website. 

 

How to enable AI Assistant on the Mono White Label Website Builder

1. Create an OpenAI account and API key following this guide

2. Load a prepaid amount to your OpenAI account for AI token usage (see more information in guide above).

3. Submit a support ticket here to request access and provide your OpenAI API key. 

4. Our Support team will enable AI Assistant on your account and let you know when it’s active.

Where to find the AI Assistant in the Mono site builder

Double clicking any text module will make the text editor ribbon appear. Click the magic wand icon on the left of the ribbon to open a dropdown menu with all the AI Assistant writing and editing options.
